Aston Martin launched the luxury four-door Rapide S in China at the 15th Shanghai International Auto Show in April, which attracted more than 750,000 visitors

on track for a great summer

Hampton Downs Motorsport Park in New Zealand kicked off the summer season of Asia Pacific Aston Martin track days in May. Excitement surrounded the new Vanquish, DB9 and the V8 Vantage, which were on display, as well as the V12 Vantage, Rapide, DBS and DBS Ultimate. Meanwhile, the Beijing Golden Port Track Day, which was held in conjunction with Aston Martin Beijing, was equally popular with the Rapide, new DB9 and V8 Vantage S on display.

The Princess Cruises VIP Cocktail party played host to more than 700 guests

The Princess Cruises VIP Cocktail party, at Sydney’s Rose Bay Marina in August, welcomed 700 guests, including Aston Martin owners, Princess yacht owners, Carla Zampatti clients and prospective buyers and their partners. Part of a four-day event showcasing over $100m worth of the finest yachts, sports cars and diamonds available to buy in Australia, the party included a DB9, Rapide S, Vanquish and V8 Vantage. This exclusive event was hosted by local TV presenter and model Chloe Maxwell.

Centenary DINNER DOWN UNDER

Adelaide Aston Martin Owners’ Club (AMOC) held a dinner on 27 July (above) for nearly 100 members and guests to celebrate the centenary at the Solitaire Aston Martin showroom. Cars in attendance included a V8 Vantage, DB9, DB7, DB2, 1933 Le Mans and DB6 Mk 1. Welcome speeches were made by David Smoker (dealer principal), Keith Degenhardt (president, AMOC) and Kevin Wall (Aston Martin Lagonda Asia Pacific regional manager).

Japanese owners celebrate a milestone

Octane motoring magazine held a special event on 9 June to celebrate Aston Martin’s centenary. More than 70 Aston Martin owners attended the celebration at the Tsukuba Circuit in Shimotsuma in the Ibaraki prefecture, and joined in a parade at the track (right).

In May, the Aston Martin Centenary Special Display took place at the Yokohama Yamashita Park in Japan (bottom). The event, organised by AMOC Japan, and in conjunction with Yokohama Central Town Festival and Rally Nippon 2013, was attended by one million members of the public.

BEST OF BRITISH IN SHANGHAI

On 19 June, the Ruijin InterContinental Hotel in Shanghai saw 300 guests celebrating the Best in British Film, in conjunction with the Shanghai International Film Festival, sponsored by Aston Martin. Famous faces included David Beckham, Tom Hooper (director of The King’s Speech) and Dame Helen Mirren, who arrived in a Q Rapide. Other cars on display included the Vanquish and V8 Roadster.

The Rapide S toured the Asia-Pacific region during its summer launch. First stop was New Zealand in May as 35 guests enjoyed an intimate evening with high tea and champagne at Independent Prestige. The same month, the car was unveiled at the Singapore City Showroom (right). Among the 120 guests were Aston Martin customers and partners. In addition to the Rapide S, a DB9, Vantage S and Vantage were on display. The Rapide S was also shown to small groups in Kuala Lumpur in June and launched in Taipei in July at Le Méridien Taipei Gallery with an elegant VIP party attended by more than 130 guests, customers and local media.

Two iconic British names, Aston Martin and Coutts & Co Ltd, held a networking event in July for a selection of VIP guests at Eden Hall, the residence of the British High Commissioner in Singapore (pictured left). The event, organised by Aston Martin Singapore, Aston Martin Owners Club Singapore and Coutts, featured a number of cars from our current range, including the Rapide S and Vanquish.
